Dr. David Ray, a renowned Interventional Pain Medicine Physician, is double board-certified and fellowship-trained. He is dedicated to providing personalized care, educating patients about the root cause of their pain, and offering effective solutions for a pain-free life.
Dr. Ray's medical journey began at The Autonoma University in Guadalajara, Mexico, where he gained invaluable experience working in cutting-edge hospitals and rural Red Cross clinics. This period also saw him become proficient in both conversational and medical Spanish, fostering a deep appreciation for Mexican culture, cuisine, and music.
Following his time in Mexico, Dr. Ray completed an Anesthesia Residency at the prestigious Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard University, in Boston, Massachusetts. His exceptional performance led to him being appointed Chief Resident in his final year. Post-residency, he returned to the Southwest, practicing Anesthesia for a decade in Albuquerque, New Mexico. During this period, he developed a keen interest in Pain Medicine, spurred by the pain conditions afflicting three close family members.
In 2015, Dr. Ray completed an Interventional Pain Medicine Fellowship at the University of New Mexico, subsequently practicing pain medicine for five years in Albuquerque. His expertise in Anesthesia and Pain Medicine has earned him multiple recognitions in Top Doctors, The Albuquerque Magazine.
Outside of his professional life, Dr. Ray is a family man with a wife and two children. He enjoys playing and coaching tennis, fly fishing, and playing classical Spanish guitar.
